Ordinances

The General Code of Ordinances is a comprehensive collection of laws and regulations enacted by the Township Board.  These regulations address various aspects of life, including public works, zoning, land use, and behavior.  They are designed to protect the health, safety and welfare of our residents, and to allow for the quiet enjoyment and productive use of your property.  Our General Code of Ordinances is published online at municode.com

Township zoning ordinances are established by the Township Planning Commission and approved by the Township Board of Trustees dealing specirically with the use of the land..  The ordinances are designed to be as unobtrusive as possible, while still protecting the appearance and functionality of property within our community. In many cases, the use of the property, setbacks for construction and the bulk and scale of buildings are dependent upon the zoning classification of the parcel. The online, interactive zoning map allows the user to determine the zone by entering an address or sidwell number.

NOTE:  The Zoning Ordinance has been incorporated as Chapter 25 of the General Code of Ordinances, effective December 22, 2012.
