The Highland Township Clerk’s office has recently received complaints from voters concerned about text messages they’ve received regarding their voter registration status. Voters are cautioned not to click links or provide personal information to unverified sources.
It is common for third-party organizations to send election-related forms to voters by mail, email, or text message. These types of mail-in and online registration options have been available to voters for many years and are legal; however, when in doubt, voters can always go directly to the Michigan Voter Information Center website at MI.gov/vote to check their voter registration status, register to vote, or update their voter registration.
