Highland Township is located on the border of western Oakland County.
M-59, a major east/west local access highway bisects the
community, giving residents access to US 23 to the west and the more urbanized
areas of southeast Michigan to the east. The Township is a mix of rural, suburban and lake living, with State Recreation lands and more than twenty-five lakes.
