Lake Improvement Boards

The Supervisor's office also acts as a liaison between resident lake owners' associations and other government agencies on issues regarding our lakes.

Under the Michigan Lake Improvement Act (Part 309 of Act 451 of 1994), a representative of the Oakland County Drain Commissioner serves, along with a representative of the residents of the lake, the local community, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) and the Board of Commissioners. Lake Improvement Boards have been established to address relevant lake improvement issues, including the oversight of aquatic weed control programs, nuisance control and other educational activities.

The following Lakes are part of this program:
- Charlick Lake
- Duck Lake
- Gourd Lake
- Highland Lake
- Kellogg Lake
- Taggett Lake
- Tomahawk Lake
- Woodruff Lake
- White Lake
- Murray Lake
